2020 Census Adult Education Campaign
Background In 2019, FLC received a grant from Florida Counts to run a statewide campaign to promote adult learner participation in the 2020 Census. Description View the archived campaign webpage on FLC’s website: https://floridaliteracy.org/2020census.html FLC made available 25 promotional kits containing: A full-color census promotion banner with school logo and county Census information flyers and sample census forms to distribute to students $100 in gift cards to support census promotion efforts Florida Counts-branded aluminum water bottles for student giveaways I designed the banners and flyers in Canva. I also designed the email below, which was then distributed to FLC’s statewide list. I managed the assembly and shipping of the promotional kits, correspondence with the 25 recipient programs, and developed deliverables to report back to Florida Counts. I also wrote a blog post, “2020 Census Resources for Adult Educators and Their Students”, and shared it on FLC’s social media accounts. Email Marketing
Description The Florida Literacy Coalition primarily offers services to community-based literacy and adult education programs throughout the Sunshine State. Email is crucial in sending communications to program managers, teachers, tutors, and volunteers. I created and sent emails to more than 2,500 email subscribers on a regular basis announcing upcoming events, grant opportunities, resources, and more, including the quarterly E-Literacy Newsletter. I used iContact to create HTML emails, to which I added relevant, eye-catching graphics and CTAs. Here are some examples of the emails I created and distributed: 2021 Call for Essays 2020 Southwest Airlines Ticket Contest Voting Resource Webinar Market Research White Paper GED Math App PIAAC Skills Map 2020 Census Statewide Adult Education Campaign 2020 Call for Essays E-Literacy Newsletters: Fall 2020 Summer 2020 Spring 2020 Fall 2019 Summer 2019

Internet Project
View the site Description This project was created using a basic WordPress theme. This particular assignment for my Writing for Mass Communication class was a group project and served as an unofficial informational website. I was entirely responsible for the design of the website, and I also visited our assigned organization, PALS of Central Texas, to interview its president. We used the interview and other information about the organization to write the articles featured throughout the site.
