As the McNay’s Communications and Marketing Manager, I developed a social media strategy that effectively engaged audiences through diverse content highlighting key exhibitions, events, and community initiatives. I adapted platform-specific trends and leveraged successful content themes, especially those celebrating cultural heritage, staff contributions, and interactive experiences, connecting the Museum with an even broader audience.

@mcnayart How can you experience a painting through the sense of touch? 'A Particular Beauty: 19th-Century French Art at the McNay' introduces the McNay's very first touch object, offering a tactile learning experience for all visitors. Thanks to collaborative efforts fostering inclusive access, visitors can explore the texture and composition of Camille Pissarro's 'Haymakers Resting' (1891). The touch object was inspired by curator, scholar, and activist, Amanda Cachia who highlights the need for inclusive access in museums. Globally, museums offer programs like audio descriptions and touch objects for blind and low-vision visitors. Collaboration among curators, artists, educators, and the public makes this possible. Special thanks to artist Juan Zavala Castro for crafting the touch object, and Jenny Salinas and Christian Sanchez from Vibrant Works for their generous creation of the braille label and invaluable feedback. Curated by Semmes Foundation Intern in Museum Studies Noelle Yongwei Barr. #McNayArtMuseum #AccessibleArt #ArtForAll #museumtok #arttok #accessibility ♬ Chopin Nocturne No. 2 Piano Mono - moshimo sound design
