Background

COVID-19 threw us all for a loop, including the team at FLC. In consideration of the CDC’s recommendations, we canceled the 37th annual Florida Literacy Conference, which would have taken place on April 30, 2020. Thanks to the contribution of conference sponsors, our team shifted the event into a virtual format and offered free registration to Florida adult educators and program administrators. The 2021 conference also took place online, so I repurposed the portal in order to host the second virtual conference.

Description

I used WordPress to build this portal from scratch with a pre-existing theme, several plugins, and custom CSS. The goal was to present our attendees with a polished, user-friendly virtual conference experience.

Additionally, I was responsible for managing attendee registration within the portal. I successfully utilized WordPress membership features and Salesforce in order to communicate with 269 attendees.
